Zack is committed to providing the background behind the data by holding open houses and forums to ensure transparency at every step. He is the only candidate with the accounting, local government, and management experience to lead from day one and restore public trust.

That is more than publishing reports. Zack will strengthen relationships with communities and provide opportunities for citizens to be heard while ensuring taxpayers have the information they need to understand and hold their government accountable.

Priorities:

• Make the OSA more accessible to local governments. Zack will expand trainings, forums, and direct engagement across the state, including visiting all 87 counties each year to connect with Auditor-Treasurers and other local government finance leaders. He’ll also work with the Legislature to secure funding to expand training opportunities statewide.

• Make financial information easier for Minnesotans to understand. Zack will make audit findings and financial information easier to understand so Minnesotans can see how public dollars are being managed without having to be financial experts. He’ll make sure the OSA keeps pace with modern technology while ensuring its digital tools and services are accessible to everyone.

• Invest in the tools local governments rely on. Zack will advocate for continued funding to improve and secure CTAS, the OSA’s financial reporting software, so local governments can reliably manage and track their finances. The OSA’s previous funding supported improvements through 2025, and Zack will work with the Legislature to build on that investment.

A stronger OSA will be open, responsive, and accessible — giving Minnesotans confidence that they can understand its work and have their voices heard.
